The way I work
To meet individual needs I offer short term and long term counselling work, over Zoom or face to face. I am an Integrative Counsellor, working with adolescents and adults. I work with a variation of counselling approaches, including Integrative, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Art Therapy. I am adaptable and flexible in my counselling approach to ensure I meet varying client needs.
Firstly I will offer you a free initial phone consultation to discuss your needs and requirements. This will help me to gain background information and to ascertain whether counselling is the right step for you. Here I will outline for you how I work and what to expect of our sessions. Then it will be about us ensuring that together we are the right fit to be able to support you through your journey to healing and growth.
When working with you I will begin our initial session by filling in an assessment to address what you would like to work towards in our sessions together. Then my aim will be to build a strong working relationship with you through empathy, compassion and trust. I will provide a safe space for you to be able to open up about the challenges you are facing. I offer a working relationship that will offer you an opportunity to explore your own behaviours and patterns in relationships, which you can take with you into your day to day life.
What to expect
It may be a big step for you to take the decision to start counselling for the first time. I will support you with any nerves and anxiety you might have about starting this work together. Ultimately the space you’ll have with me in counselling will be yours to explore and think about anything that is coming up for you.
- Expect us to build a relationship and work together
- Expect us to focus on your priorities
- Expect to gain increased self-awareness
- Expect to have the opportunity to express feelings and thoughts in a safe therapeutic environment
- Expect no judgements from me (I embrace all diversities and differences)
