How I got here
I pride myself on being a genuine, caring and compassionate Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have 24 years experience working with vulnerable people, which started with my career in nursing for the NHS. This was where I realised how passionate I am about looking after people’s wellbeing. From here I started working in therapeutic services and now I have 14 years counselling experience in a variety of settings. All of this has brought me on a journey to where I am currently counselling in Norfolk.
Working with young people
As well as three separate Certificates in Counselling, I also have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in Counselling Teenagers. Working with young people has become a specialist area of mine. I have many years experience as a school counsellor at High Schools in Buckinghamshire and London. I’ve also spent time working as a Youth Counsellor at charities that specifically offer support to young people. As well as short term counselling for clients age 11+ at a Sexual Abuse Referral Centre for young people who had experienced sexual assault. With young people in particular I sometimes work using Art Therapy, to exercise creativity within my practice, which has worked really well for my clients.

Working with adults
I also have a wealth of experience in adult counselling and have worked within Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services and a Women’s Centre. I’ve also supported adults and young people with profound disabilities, such as Acquired Brain Injuries and Alzheimers. Currently I split my time as a counsellor between working with a Youth Community Charity and in private practice in Norwich.
My passions
I am passionate that everyone has the opportunity to achieve their personal, social, emotional and educational potential, which is what drives me in my work. I encourage clients to work towards managing their own difficulties, through offering a therapeutic service. The aim here is to work on my client’s being able to gain confidence in their abilities, improve relationships, coping strategies and give them information about further resources. My aim is to empower, inspire hope and offer sincere care.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Counselling Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and continue to update myself on the latest therapeutic learnings in the way of continued professional development.
